Openings for the 2025 – 2026 School Year:

2nd Grade Teacher:
Due to enrollment growth, SJNA is adding a 2nd Grade teacher to our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young minds in a nurturing, faith-filled environment and play a pivotal role in laying the academic and social-emotional foundation for our young students. We are looking for a passionate educator who thrives in a collaborative setting and is committed to creating a joyful, respectful, and structured classroom culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach all core subjects (excluding enhancement/specials classes)
  • Design & implement engaging lesson plans aligned with SJNA's curriculum/academic standards
  • Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, empathy, responsibility & love of learning
  • Communicate consistently and effectively with students, families, and colleagues
  • Participate in school-wide events, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities
  • Embrace and embody the mission and values of SJNA in both teaching and community involvement

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Elementary Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field
  • Current Virginia teaching license (or actively in the process of obtaining licensure)
  • Teaching or student teaching experience in elementary grades
  • Creative, organized, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to academic excellence and character development
  • Willingness to contribute to a dynamic, supportive, and faith-based school community

After-School Program Leader:
SJNA is seeking a caring, energetic, and organized person to lead our After-School Program. This is a rewarding opportunity to positively impact students in a supportive, faith-filled school community.

Position Overview:

  • The After-School Program Leader is responsible for creating a welcoming, structured, and engaging environment where students feel safe, valued, and active after the school day ends. This individual will manage daily program activities, supervise a team of three program staff members, and ensure strong communication with families at pick-up. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives every day, competitive hourly pay, and professional development opportunities. 

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Follows the SJNA academic calendar (August–May)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the program for students in Preschool through 8th Grade
  • Develop/implement activity plans including arts & crafts, games, and enrichment projects
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive environment
  • Build strong relationships with students and parents; communicate effectively during pick-up times
  • Ensure accountability and consistency among staff while modeling strong leadership
  • Manage attendance records and student check-out procedures

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting
  • Strong behavior and classroom management skills across multiple age groups
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and adapt plans when needed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, and a team-first mindset
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
